The Council's First Full Season, By the Numbers
December 6, 2021 · By Council Staff
The Council closed its first full sanctioned season in late 2021 having certified events in twelve states and produced its first official national rankings. Michael Salomone of North Carolina finished the season atop both the national leaderboard and his home region's rankings, a position he has not relinquished since.
Regional participation grew fastest in the Southeast and along the West Coast, with the Midwest and Northeast chapters both holding their first sanctioned regional opens later in the year. The Council's board has said it expects at least two additional regional series to be added within the next several seasons as more state chapters reach the participation threshold required for sanctioning.
