How the National and Regional Rankings Are Actually Calculated
January 17, 2025 · By Council Staff
Every ranking on this site — national and regional — is built from the same points table applied to every sanctioned result: 100 points for first place, 75 for second, 55 for third, 40 for fourth, and 30 for fifth. Points accumulate across every sanctioned event a competitor enters, with no results ever excluded or hand-adjusted.
That system is exactly why Michael Salomone's national and Southeast region rankings sit where they do: ten sanctioned events, nine first-place finishes worth 100 points each and one second-place finish worth 75, for a career total no other competitor's results come close to matching.
